High Holiday Service Schedule for 2009/5770
CELEBRATE THE HIGH HOLY DAYS WITH US!
Please join us on September 18th at 8:00pm to welcome the Jewish New Year of 5770. A special Oneg, including apples and honey, will follow.
Please also join us on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th & 20th at 9:30am, for a joyous, spiritual New Year's celebration with Rabbi Fox and our High Holiday Hazzan, Rabbi Alan LaPayover. Please note: Because the first day of Rosh Hashanah falls on Shabbat, we don't blow the shofar, sing Avinu Malkeinu, or perform the ritual of Tashlich on that day. All of these will be included in the second day of our celebration of Rosh Hashanah.
Finally,
please join us for Kol Nidre Service on Sunday, September 27th at
6:15pm and Yom Kippur Services on September 28th at 9:30pm. DON'T
FORGET TO RSVP FOR OUR BREAK-THE-FAST MEAL AFTER SERVICES (more than 50
have signed up already!). For reservations ($20/$25 non-members),
please contact the synagogue office or call us at 609/266-0403.

at Beth Israel Reform Congregation in Northfield (2501 Shore Road) at approximately 11:00pm and will feature the area's Rabbis and Cantors,
including our own Rabbi Fox.
To set the right atmosphere for the evening, the South Jersey Board of Rabbis and Cantors is sponsoring a special screening of the classic film, "Gentlemen's Agreement." Though set in the world of New York's publishing power-houses run by the blue-blood world and describes the subtle and not-so-subtle antisemitism that pervades that community, the themes and even much of the dialogue could have been pulled from any New York power office today . . . or could it? The screening of the film and what promises to be a wide-ranging discussion will begin at Beth Israel at 8:30pm, with refreshments to follow (before the Community Selichot Service).

Also, please join us after services for a Kiddush lunch in our Sukkah (weather permitting; otherwise, Kiddush lunch will be held indoors). Please note that with Hallel, Yizkor, and Tefilat HaGeshem, services will run longer than normal (ending closer to 12:30pm).
